You don’t need a visa to come here and see Costa Blanca during Christmastime if you come from Europe. But of course, if you come across the Atlantic like Mexico, Canada and the United States, you need to have a visa. Plus only smaller airlines such as Ryan Air cater to the direct Costa Blanca route if you come here in this part of Spain. Just don’t don any cottony fiber because cotton tends to absorb moisture. Here in Costa Blanca, you can enjoy the Christmas season much as it is enjoyed elsewhere in Spain with the exception of a few deviations.

These deviations are in the form of nudist beaches but these are usually understandably deserted during Christmas which also coincides with the peak of winter. These beaches are often inhabited by Dutch visitors so they really are not natives to Costa Blanca. The real people in Costa Blanca are fun-loving, innocent and simple. They are the people who adhere strictly to Catholic traditions. They are in a way what you can call as true Catholics. The first hint of a religious Christmas celebration comes in during the first four weeks before Christmas. This is called the Season of Advent and Catholics here light the Advent candle during the first mass of the fourth Sunday before Christmas.

The individual who will have the privilege to light the candle will be one of the most prominent families in the particular parish. This tradition goes on even after the second, third and fourth week of Advent. After that, people here then go to mass starting nine days before Christmas. And small-scale businessmen then take the opportunity to blend with the crowd after the mass to offer Spanish breakfasts for sale.
